Katz Group names chief merchant for Rexall

Katz Group Canada Ltd. has named Ken Keelor as chief merchandising officer for its Rexall drug chain. The Canadian drug store operator said Monday that Keelor starts in the post effective immediately.

TORONTO — Katz Group Canada Ltd. has named Ken Keelor as chief merchandising officer for its Rexall drug chain.

The Canadian drug store operator said Monday that Keelor starts in the post effective immediately. In the role, he will oversee all merchandising and marketing functions for the Rexall family of pharmacies.

Keelor comes to Katz/Rexall from food and drug retailer Sobey’s Inc., where he held a number of executive positions during his 10 years with the company, most recently as vice president of private-label procurement and global sourcing.

According to Katz, Keelor has over two decades of Canadian and international experience in merchandising and marketing, having driven sales and profitability performance for a variety of retailers through brand revitalization programs, merchandising and marketing strategy, and private brand activation.

"Ken’s more than 20 years of experience in retail merchandising will be a valuable addition to Katz Group Canada’s leadership team," Frank Scorpiniti, chief operating officer for Katz Group Canada, said in a statement. "Ken has a proven track record in building winning teams and growing sales and overall business performance through innovative strategies. As we continue to enhance our customer experience, he will be integral to our organization. We’re excited to welcome Ken to our team."

Katz Group Canada’s retail pharmacy network includes more than 1,800 chain, franchise and independent pharmacies under such banners as Rexall, Rexall Pharma Plus, The Medicine Shoppe, Guardian and I.D.A.
