RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Health, a health care services subsidiary of Kerr Drug, has launched a new web site that provides entry portals for health care professionals, patients, caregivers and employers.
The new site, www.kerrhealth.com, creates a stronger online destination for information and resources on specialty pharmacy, long-term care, wellness, care management and health intervention, Kerr Health said late Thursday.
Highlights of the new Web site include an improved search function, with Google’s search engine providing more relevant and organized search results; simplified content; improved site navigation; and an enhanced look and feel that spotlights Kerr Health’s new brand platform.
"We wanted to create a means for providing useful information and engaging our customers," Kerr Health president Mike Brown said in a statement. "We believe this new Web site will help us connect with physicians, medical practices, employer groups, long-term care facilities and the general public on a more substantial level."
Besides providing information about Kerr Health’s services — which include availability of 24-hour consultation with pharmacists and nurses, synchronization of medications, prescription delivery (same day in many cases), medication compounding, and insurance benefit verification and prior authorization — the site features news about special programs, handy online referral forms, and testimonials.
The Web site also describes Kerr Health’s three service areas:
• Specialty pharmacy: Specialty medications and individualized care for people with cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, multiple sclerosis, HIV/AIDS, rheumatoid arthritis, organ transplants, certain behavioral health and skin conditions, and other conditions, such as infertility, that require ongoing medication regimens.
• Care management: A team of clinical pharmacists and other health professionals provides an array of health and wellness education and intervention services, such as vaccinations, health screenings, medication therapy management, education regarding diabetes and other life-limiting conditions, and comprehensive wellness programs for employers, municipal governments, and insurance providers.
• Outsourced pharmacy and long-term care: Comprehensive pharmacy services for skilled nursing, assisted living and independent living facilities.
The company said Kerr Health synergistically unites Kerr Health Care Services and KDI Health Solutions, two former subsidiaries of Kerr Drug, which has about 90 stores in North Carolina.
