NEW YORK — Greater Honeycomb, a nonprofit created to raise money for rare disease causes, has appointed Devon Laszewski director of community engagement. She will report directly to CEO Elizabeth Izard Apelles.

Laszewski's responsibilities will include product creation and management of HoneycombHealth.store — the nonprofit’s online store — overseeing design and visual content, video production and content scheduling.

"As we scale up, we need to build our capabilities in managing the look and feel of our stores, adding new products and designs," said Izard Apelles. "Devon has a broad range of skills that we were looking for and she's a perfect fit for our organization at this point in time."

Greater Honeycomb exists at the intersection of commerce and care, with every item sold on HoneycombHealth.store directly supporting a meaningful cause. Unlike traditional retailers, each purchase is designed to help fund vital rare disease organizations.

Each organization that Greater Honeycomb partners with receives a fully branded online storefront, hosted, managed and maintained by the nonprofit at no cost to them. This allows each partner to focus on its mission, which is providing funds for rare disease research and support for rare disease patients.

"This is an opportunity to work for a nonprofit that directly impacts people who need support and it's extremely gratifying to me to be part of this organization," said Laszewski.
