AmerisourceBergen Corp. has been awarded a major pharmaceutical wholesale contract by the state of California. The California Department of General Services (DGS) said late Thursday that the new drug supply pact, awarded to the pharmaceutical distributor’s AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp.

Meijer COO appointed as president

Meijer has named chief operating officer J.K. Symancyk as president of the company, taking over from Mark Murray, who has been appointed to the newly formed position of co-chief executive officer. The food and drug retailer said Tuesday that Symancyk will begin in the president’s role on Feb. 3.
