TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — Little Remedies has made it easier for parents to care for their babies’ digestive health with the release of Probiotic Plus Electrolytes.
The product’s dual-chamber pouch technology enables its electrolytes to be combined with its probiotic.
The Prestige Brands children’s care brand said Little Remedies Probiotic Plus Electrolytes is the only dietary supplement product that combines a probiotic and electrolytes in one convenient packet formulated specifically for babies. With a natural berry flavor, the powder contains the probiotic Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG and dissolves easily in fluids, providing the dual benefit of maintaining flora (or “good” bacteria) in the digestive system and supporting hydration.
It comes in a natural berry flavor and contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, the most studied probiotic strain in children, containing 5 billion colony forming units.
A proprietary, dual-chamber pouch technology enables the product’s specially formulated electrolyte to comply with World Health Organization guidelines that allow it to be combined with a probiotic, Little Remedies noted. That’s a key feature because electrolytes, when stored with probiotics, will interact with them and impede probiotics’ ability to survive during shelf life, the company said.
“Little Remedies Probiotic Plus Electrolytes is the first complete solution for parents to help support their baby’s digestive health and hydration with a probiotic and electrolytes in one convenient packet,” stated Barry Cohen, director of innovation at Prestige Brands. “Probiotic Plus Electrolytes is the newest innovation in pediatric care and, like all of Little Remedies’ baby-focused products, was created with ingredients that are safe and reliable, especially for a baby’s gentle body.”
Little Remedies Probiotic Plus Electrolytes is an episodic product, to be used when needed, for children ages 12 months and older. The product retails for $11.99 to $15.99 and is available now at such retailers as Target, Babies R Us and Amazon.
