MacLean to join Pharmavite as new CEO

Pharmavite has hired Doug MacLean as its new chief executive officer. The dietary supplement manufacturer, maker of Nature Made vitamins and SoyJoy nutrition bars, said Tuesday that MacLean is slated to join the company on June 1.

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — Pharmavite has hired Doug MacLean as its new chief executive officer.

The dietary supplement manufacturer, maker of Nature Made vitamins and SoyJoy nutrition bars, said Tuesday that MacLean is slated to join the company on June 1.

MacLean comes to Pharmavite from TalkingRain, a Seattle-based beverage company focused on health-conscious consumers, providing natural waters and functional beverages. He started at TalkingRain in 1989 and most recently served as CEO. During his tenure, he led the organization from a startup to a successful, independent beverage company, according to Pharmavite.

The company noted that MacLean is a committed health and wellness enthusiast, with an entrepreneurial background and a "passion for establishing new markets through new brands and products."

Pharmavite said his strategic priorities will include accelerating the growth of new products in the United States in tandem with parent company Otsuka Pharmaceutical Corp., as well as maintaining a focus on the financial health and effectiveness of Pharmavite’s overall business.
