NEW YORK — Majestic Drug Co. has introduced Senzzzzz Away Tooth Desensitizer, a convenient dental gel that provides relief from tooth sensitivity.
The company said Friday that Senzzzzz Away Tooth Desensitizer alleviates sensitivity of teeth to cold, sweet and hot foods and liquids with a single application.
Majestic noted that the Food and Drug Administration-approved formula provides immediate relief and will last up to six months. The dual action treatment is designed to eliminate current sensitivity and prevent future flare-ups.
According to the company, tooth sensitivity is caused when the tooth enamel is worn away and the dentin is exposed. Tooth enamel is often worn away through aggressive tooth brushing, excessive tooth bleaching/whitening, and eating too much sugar and/or highly acidic foods. Almost 50% of the population suffers from tooth sensitivity to cold, sweet and hot foods and liquids, according to a nationwide survey of 1,056 U.S. adults.
About half of respondents tried sensitivity toothpastes, yet only about a third found their experience to be positive, according Larry Fishman, president of Majestic.

Senzzzzz Away comes packaged in a convenient, single-use dispenser and is available at Rite Aid and other drug stores, supermarket chains and mass marketers nationwide at a suggested retail price of $5.99.
