WASHINGTON — The Association for Accessible Medicines (AAM) has appointed Mark Ratner as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, bringing more than two decades of legislative and policy experience to the organization.
Ratner, who most recently served as chief of staff for U.S. Representative Bryan Steil of Wisconsin, has also held senior roles on Capitol Hill, including serving as a senior advisor to the Senate Health Committee and as legislative director and deputy chief of staff to U.S. Representative Fred Upton of Michigan. His experience also includes work with the House Energy and Commerce Committee and with U.S. Representative Joe Schwarz of Michigan.
In his new role, Ratner will lead AAM’s government relations team across federal and state relations, advocacy, and alliances.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mark to the AAM and Biosimilars Council team,” said John Murphy III, President and CEO of AAM. “He has already hit the ground running and will be a key leader in our advocacy efforts to bring about common-sense reforms to ensure sustainable and affordable generics and biosimilar medicines for patients across the country.”
Ratner noted he is eager to advance AAM’s mission to increase patient access to affordable, life-saving generic and biosimilar medicines.
“I am excited to join the Association for Accessible Medicines and help advance its mission to increase patient access to affordable, life-saving generic and biosimilar medicines,” said Ratner. “I look forward to working with policymakers and stakeholders to support a competitive, sustainable healthcare system that delivers real value to patients across the country.”
