Markwins said Tuesday that Curti assumed the new post effective Jan. 3. With his hiring, the company also announced that Bill George, president and chief operating officer of North America, will shift from the day-to-day management of Markwins’ brands to a role on its advisory board. Plans call for George to work with Curti through April before moving to the board.
Most recently, Curti was global president at Genomma Lab International, a manufacturer and marketer of over-the-counter health, beauty and personal care products in Latin America and serving Hispanic customers in other North American markets, including the United States. Prior to that, he briefly served as global president at Pfizer and as president and CEO at venture capital firm Exploramed following 22 years at Johnson & Johnson, where he most recently was global president of skin care, including the beauty and baby divisions.
Other positions he held at J&J, where he began his career and worked from 1990 to 2012, include president of Johnson & Johnson Consumer USA; general manager of Neutrogena; managing director in Europe; and marketing director for Europe, Africa and Middle East.
“Stefano’s appointment and this transition are exciting milestones in a succession plan that we have been pursuing for some time. This appointment is a clear affirmation of Markwins’ commitment to the future,” stated Eric Chen, chief executive officer and founder of Markwins. “We believe Stefano’s people-focused leadership style, beauty industry expertis, and brand understanding will build on the success Bill George has helped Markwins to achieve.

“Bill’s leadership has paved an excellent path for us to follow and grow,” Curti stated. “I look forward to working with Bill to ensure the company is positioned for continued success through a robust transition plan. We will continue to build upon, add and strengthen a great North American momentum, and at the same time look to accelerate the meteoric growth of our world-class brands around the globe.”
