SAN FRANCISCO — McKesson Patient Relationship Solutions (MPRS) is partnering with mscripts LLC on a new-to-market solution aimed at improving pharmacy customers’ medication adherence and fostering patient engagement.
Available beginning in March, the solution will provide pharmacy customers with digital coupons via two-way text messaging or a mobile app.
The companies said that by providing patients with medication cost savings and personalized adherence support, the solution will help them to better manage their health.
“The partnership delivers valuable co-pay savings directly to a patient’s mobile phone exactly when they need them, whether it’s a prescription ready for refill or pickup,” said Mark Cullen, chief executive officer of mscripts. “The coupons are easy to view and redeem, saving both the pharmacy and the patient time.”
The solution will connect mscripts’ network of more than 6,000 pharmacies with MPRS’ savings and adherence programs, which supports over 500 branded medications. MPRS is a provider of pharmaceutical manufacturer-sponsored patient adherence programs. Mscripts provides mobile pharmacy services.
Derek Rago, vice president and general manager at MPRS, said, “Our partnership with mscripts is particularly exciting because it fully leverages the power of mobile while actively strengthening the pharmacist-patient relationship. The result is brand teams are now able to deliver cost savings for medications directly to a preferred engagement medium, the patient’s mobile phone, securely and in real-time from a key trusted health care provider — their pharmacist.”
