SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — McNeil Consumer Healthcare has joined the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) Elite Partner Program.
NCPDP said Wednesday that the Elite Partner Program establishes the highest level of sustained support for the council’s efforts to advance patient safety and interoperability. Elite Partners make a three-year commitment.
The program provides critical support for standards development and other work of NCPDP, including its growth as a forum for health care business and patient safety issues, education and new product development, as well as the enhancement of existing products that support NCPDP’s operations.
“McNeil Consumer Healthcare has long supported NCPDP, through its representation in our work groups and task groups, supporting recognition of our member leaders, and in championing our patient safety initiatives,” stated Lee Ann Stember, president of NCPDP. “We are pleased to welcome McNeil Consumer Healthcare into this elite tier of dedicated partners.”
McNeil Consumer Healthcare is the fourth company to join the NCPDP Elite Partner Program. Other Elite Partners include AmerisourceBergen, CoverMyMeds and Medversant. NCPDP said it will accept up to 10 partners into the program.
“For years, we have been committed to education as it relates to the safe use of all medicines and our ongoing partnership with NCPDP is yet another symbol of that commitment,” commented Raj Mishra, vice president of medical and clinical affairs for OTC at McNeil Consumer Healthcare, the over-the-counter health products unit of McNeil-PPC Inc. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration with NCPDP to ensure patient safety and ongoing advancement of safe medicine practices.”
