RAND RAPIDS, Mich. – For the third year in a row, Meijer and its customers will help feed Midwestern communities through its Simply Give hunger-fighting program during Thanksgiving week. From November 24-30, Meijer will donate the equivalent of one food item to Simply Give food pantry partners every time a customer includes any Meijer brand food product, Meijer's Frederik's, Meijer True Goodness, or Purple Cow in their purchase. This collective effort resulted in the donation of 4 million food items to Simply Give food pantry partners in the last two years – a goal that the retailer hopes to achieve again this year.
The holiday season is not only a time to gather with family and friends, but also to reach out to our neighbors in need," said Melissa Conway, Meijer's Director of Community Partnerships and Giving. "When each of us includes a Meijer brand product in our Thanksgiving meal, we are nurturing hope in communities across the Midwest."
Since 2008, the Simply Give program has been feeding hungry families in the communities Meijer serves, putting food on the shelves of hundreds of pantries each year. In 2024 alone, more than 450 pantries received food from the Simply Give program. To date, the program has donated more than $90 million to pantries located throughout the Midwest.

Customers interested in doing even more to support food insecurity in their communities can also purchase the Simply Give $10 donation card in-store, or add it to their Meijer online pickup and delivery orders at any time of the year. The cards are then converted into Meijer gift cards that can only be redeemed for food at a local store of a Meijer community food pantry partner.
