ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has launched NACDS Mobile, a new mobile web site intended to serve as a "guide on the go" for association events, activities and information.

Going live on Wednesday, the NACDS Mobile site — available at http://m.NACDS.org — is designed for ease of use on any smartphone with a web browser and gives members a heads-up on NACDS meetings, advocacy and public relations, the association said.

Features of NACDS Mobile include a designated section for each of the association’s conferences and meetings, as well as the most recent news on NACDS’ public policy advocacy and advancement of pharmacy as "the face of neighborhood health care."

In addition, the new mobile site also provides a hub to NACDS’ social media presence on Twitter and its relatively new engagement on Facebook.

"NACDS Mobile applies a current approach to NACDS’ consistent mission," NACDS president and chief executive officer Steve Anderson stated. "Wherever you are, it delivers the latest on NACDS’ work to foster business community and to advance pharmacies as the face of neighborhood health care through government advocacy and communications."

The association added that NACDS Mobile complements the smartphone applications introduced for use at select NACDS meetings and conferences in 2010, and which will remain in use for certain meetings in 2011. The apps are free and are meant to enhance attendees’ efficiency and experience at NACDS conferences and meetings with speaker information, interactive site maps, event schedules and more.
