NACDS Foundation opens community pharmacy education grant program

The NACDS Foundation offers grants up to $100,000 for community pharmacy education and to prepare more students for community practice.

ARLINGTON, Va. — The NACDS Foundation has opened a new grant opportunity for schools and colleges of pharmacy to strengthen community pharmacy education and encourage more students to pursue careers in the practice setting.

The Foundation will award grants of up to $100,000 for new programs and up to $50,000 for existing or continuing programs in 2027. Funding will support educational programs, partnerships, and strategies focused on experiential learning, curriculum innovation, and faculty and preceptor development.

Round 1 concept proposals are due November 29.

“Growing the pipeline of pharmacists who choose to practice in the community setting is a central goal of the NACDS Foundation,” said Christie Boutte, president of the NACDS Foundation. “This grant opportunity, part of the three-year strategic plan we launched this year, is built around that goal. We’re proud to support schools and colleges of pharmacy that are boldly reimagining how students learn about community pharmacy.”

The Foundation seeks programs that engage pharmacy students, demonstrate innovation, and include measurable outcomes. Projects should also have the potential to be sustained or replicated at other pharmacy schools.
