ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Edith Rosato, president of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation, is slated to leave that post next month to become chief executive officer of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP).

In a company memo on Wednesday, NACDS president and chief executive officer Steve Anderson said Rosato will take the reins as AMCP’s CEO on Nov. 6. She will continue in her roles as NACDS Foundation president and as NACDS senior vice president of pharmacy affairs until Nov. 4 to aid in the transition.
Anderson said a search for candidates for the NACDS Foundation president and NACDS senior vice president of pharmacy affairs positions is under way.
"We all want to express our sincerest appreciation to Edith for her 11 years of service at NACDS. She is a true pharmacy professional and advocate who has consistently demonstrated tremendous leadership to advance pharmacy and broadly communicate pharmacy’s value to the American people," Anderson stated in the memo.
Based in Alexandria, Va., AMCP is a national professional association of pharmacists and other health care practitioners with the goal of applying sound medication management principles and strategies to improve health care for the over 200 million Americans covered by a managed care pharmacy benefit.
For Rosato, becoming AMCP’s chief executive represents "a tremendous opportunity," according to Anderson.
"Edith’s wealth of knowledge and broad experience — including community pharmacy and its operations, business development, sales and marketing, and strong association management skills — will hold her in good stead and will serve the AMCP members well," he said in the memo. "Please join me in recognizing Edith on a job very well done and congratulating her on the next chapter of her successful career."
