Washington — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) reiterates four critical strategies to "Make America Healthy Again" as the Trump administration reaffirms February as American Heart Month. The initiative aims to address pressing public health challenges and promote heart health awareness across the nation.
The Trump administration's proclamation of February as American Heart Month underscores the importance of raising awareness about cardiovascular health. NACDS is urging policymakers and stakeholders to prioritize policies that support these "Four Wins" to create a healthier America.

In a statement, NACDS reiterated the "Four Wins" necessary to improve health outcomes: enhancing access to healthcare services, advancing preventive care, leveraging community pharmacies as healthcare destinations, and fostering public-private partnerships to address chronic diseases like heart disease, the leading cause of death in the U.S.
NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson emphasized the role of pharmacies in delivering accessible care, particularly in underserved areas. "Community pharmacies are uniquely positioned to provide vital health services, including blood pressure screenings, immunizations, and medication management, which are essential in combating heart disease," Anderson said.
