ARLINGTON, Va. – In recognition of Diabetes Month this November, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores is spotlighting pharmacies' role in diabetes prevention and management. With more than 38 million Americans living with diabetes and 98 million with prediabetes, the focus on education and preventive care has never been more crucial.

NACDS has launched a digital campaign on Facebook, LinkedIn and X promoting pharmacies' critical work in managing and preventing diabetes. Using the hashtag #NourishMyHealth, the campaign is part of a broader initiative to encourage health screenings, healthier food choices and chronic disease management.

"Pharmacies and pharmacists nationwide are stepping up during Diabetes Month and helping people take charge of their health," said NACDS president and chief executive officer Steve Anderson. He highlighted the Nourish My Health campaign, a yearlong public education effort that partners with national health organizations to address chronic disease risks, nutrition and overall wellness.

The initiative aligns with the 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health's goal to end hunger and reduce disease risks. NACDS member pharmacies are participating in wellness events, immunization clinics and targeted awareness campaigns, including this month's focus on diabetes.

NACDS has also supported other health campaigns, like Men's and Women's Health Months and National Immunization Awareness Month, underscoring pharmacies' broad impact on public health.
