The National Association of Chain Drug Stores is emphasizing the “Total” in its centerpiece Total Store Expo conference and trade show as it gets prospective attendees thinking about the 2018 event.

NACDS has posted a series of NACDS-TV videos spotlighting key categories of drug store products showcased at the Expo: cosmetics and fragrances, health care and over-the-counterpharmacy operations and nutrition/health.

“I’m a cosmetics buyer for a regional discount chain. I’m here seeking out cosmetic items, fragrances — anything new and exciting,” Discount Drug Mart’s Chris Nida told NACDS-TV.

With well-being top-of-mind with consumers, the health/OTC category always makes a splash at the Expo, NACDS noted.

“I’m the vice president for OTC, so we look at any of the products near the pharmacy but not behind the counter. But I also put on my ‘total Walmart hat’ and look for great products for the total box,” said Walmart’s Annie Walker.

The Expo brings together the entire supply chain, from merchandise to technology, NACDS stressed.

“We’re from the pharmacy segment of the business in operations, so we look at technologies, ways to build the clinical footprint of our stores and our pharmacists,” Scott Jacobson of Rite Aid told NACDS-TV.

The 2018 NACDS Total Store Expo is scheduled for Aug. 25 to 27 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
