New Maxi and Shoppers Drug Mart stores coming to Victoriaville in 2027

Once completed, the new Maxi and Pharmaprix (Shoppers Drug Mart) will create approximately 95 jobs and help strengthen the region's retail and healthcare offerings.

Montréal, Québec – Loblaw has announced plans to open a new Maxi and Pharmaprix (Shoppers Drug Mart) as part of a commercial development on Rue des Anémones near Route 161 in Victoriaville. The multi-million-dollar investment will give local residents greater access to affordable groceries, trusted pharmacy services and a broad range of everyday essentials.

The project represents a significant investment in the Victoriaville community. Once completed, the new stores are expected to create approximately 95 jobs while enhancing the region’s retail and healthcare offerings.

A Project That Will Benefit the Community

The future Maxi will feature the banner's latest store concept, showcasing an innovative new design that combines wood, steel and natural light to create a warm and welcoming shopping environment. Designed to provide a simple, convenient, and value-focused shopping experience, customers will enjoy a wide assortment of fresh products, locally sourced items, organic and natural products, as well as the benefits of the Unbeatable program and PC Optimum.

"At a time when Québécois are looking for more ways to save on their grocery bills, Maxi continues to be the smart choice," said Patrick Blanchette, Senior Vice President, Maxi. "While this store will feature a modern new design, customers can continue to count on the same value, quality products and low prices they know and trust from Maxi. Our commitment also extends to supporting local products by working hand in hand with regional suppliers and partners."

The new Pharmaprix will offer an extensive selection of beauty products, cosmetics, fragrances and everyday essentials, while allowing customers to take advantage of the popular PC Optimum rewards program. Designed to meet the evolving needs of the community, the store will also feature a modern pharmacy care clinic space, improving access to primary healthcare services such as chronic disease management, vaccinations, and other pharmacist-provided healthcare services. Once open, the new Pharmaprix will help improve access to care while offering a convenient, comprehensive shopping experience for residents of Victoriaville and the surrounding area.

"This project will help meet the growing demand for accessible community healthcare services," said Erik Courtemanche, District Manager, Pharmaprix. "We look forward to strengthening our presence in Victoriaville and providing more convenient healthcare services tailored to the needs of local residents."

Significant Economic Benefits

In addition to the jobs that will be created once the stores open, the construction phase will generate positive economic benefits for the region throughout the duration of the project. Teams are working closely with partners and contractors to ensure construction progresses according to schedule.

The new Maxi and Pharmaprix are expected to open in late 2027.
