SEATTLE – Bartell Drugs, in partnership with local radio station STAR 101.5 and World Vision, is helping more students than ever. The 17th Annual School Tools program collected $116,270 in donations from generous communities in Pierce, Snohomish and King counties. 100% of the donations of school supplies and hygiene products will directly support local students in the Greater Puget Sound area.
“We want to thank all of our customers who helped make this program the most successful it has ever been. Their generosity is a reminder of how much Seattleites truly care about their neighbors,” said Kathi Lentzsch, chief executive officer of Bartell Drugs. “This program wouldn’t be possible without the enthusiasm and support from our store employees who care so much about the people in their communities. I am thrilled by the results of this years’ donation drive.”
Items collected during the drive have been donated to World Vision’s Teacher Resource Center in Fife. This center serves over 70,000 students in 152 elementary, middle and high schools located in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. Donated items help re-stock the center where teachers “shop” for supplies for qualifying students.
