CINCINNATI — The Progene all-natural testosterone supplement is being rolled out to Rite Aid’s more than 4,600 drug stores.

"We’re excited to be carried by Rite Aid, the third-largest retail drug chain in the country," Michael Lee, a principal at Progene, said in a statement Friday. "For over 50 years, Rite Aid has been providing wellness products and community partnership. We see future opportunities to help consumers take more control over their lives with natural alternatives."

Testosterone levels in men peak in the teens/early 20s and then begin to decline annually. Lower levels mean less energy, more body and belly fat, and a loss of muscle mass, according to Progene.

The aging of the U.S. population will only lead to an increase in the number of men who experience testosterone deficiencies, the company added.

Progene, which has sold over 20 million tablets, said its product’s dual-action formula of rare herbal extracts and clinically proven testosterone precursors help provide men the key ingredients they need to produce more testosterone.

Unlike synthetic injectables, gels or patches that artificially boost levels, Progene works naturally by allowing the body to metabolize only what it needs, the company noted. The product comes with 60 capsules per box.

Along with Rite Aid, Progene is sold nationwide at GNC Stores, USA Drug, Drugstore.com, Sears.com, Harris Teeter, Brookshires Food & Drug and more than 150 other local and regional retailers.
