SPARTANBURG, S.C. — QS/1 has partnered with pharmacy software maker iMedicare to help pharmacies better serve the rising number of Medicare patients nationwide.

The health care automation solution provider said Tuesday that its QS/1 Pharmacy Management System now integrates with iMedicare, an iPad application that can quickly present Medicare plan options that fit the needs of each Medicare patient.

iMedicare uses the customer information already in the QS/1 system to populate the appropriate fields to quickly search and compare plans. That time-saving measure enables pharmacies to help more patients and reduce their search times, QS/1 noted.

"There are thousands of seniors enrolling in Medicare every day," stated Tammy Devine, president of QS/1. "iMedicare is a valuable resource that allows pharmacies to present plan options for that specific person."

The iMedicare iPad appl allows pharmacists and pharmacy staff to assist their patients in any environment, the companies added.

"Using government resources, comparing plans can take up to 40 minutes," commented Flaviu Simihaian, chief executive officer of iMedicare. "When integrated with QS/1’s Pharmacy Management System, iMedicare can do that comparison in a matter of seconds."
