ReCept Pharmacy earns specialty Rx accreditation

ReCept Pharmacy has been received full specialty pharmacy accreditation from URAC, a Washington-based health care accrediting body.

FORT WORTH, Texas — ReCept Pharmacy has been received full specialty pharmacy accreditation from URAC, a Washington-based health care accrediting body.

ReCept said Thursday that by earning the URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation, the company has put itself in a better position to expand and deliver top-notch patient care in today’s evolving health care industry.

One of the fastest-growing segments of care today is specialty pharmacy, in which patients with chronic or rare diseases often require a complex prescription drug regimen and specialized support services to deliver and manage their medications as well as regulate their condition.

"ReCept is honored to receive Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation from URAC," Carmine DeNardo, president and chief executive officer of ReCept Pharmacy, said in a statement. "We are very pleased to be recognized in the industry. Such a distinction underscores the quality of our work by demonstrating compliance with national standards for a specialty pharmacy."

The URAC accreditation process exemplifies a commitment to quality services, provides a framework to improve business processes, and promotes best practices through benchmarking organizations against nationally recognized health care standards.

In addition, ReCept said it achieved URAC’s Leading Indicator status by satisfying all of the optional elements that highlight practices not yet widely adopted in health care. These leading indicators, a prediction of where the health care industry may be heading, provide ReCept with another differentiator from other accredited organizations, the pharmacy operator said.

"ReCept Pharmacy is dedicated to comprehensive care with disease-specific clinical education and the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of compliance programs," stated Jason Lynn, vice president of clinical services and trade relations at ReCept Pharmacy. "Every day, ReCept pharmacists pledge to provide our patients with the best care possible."

ReCept specializes in serving patients and their treating physicians within the therapeutic classes of autoimmune, hepatitis, HIV, oncology, compounding and pain management.

"We applaud ReCept Pharmacy on achieving URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation," commented URAC president and CEO Kylanne Green. "It is critically important for health care organizations to make a commitment to quality and accountability. URAC accreditation is a demonstration of that commitment."

Overall, ReCept’s network encompasses 16 retail pharmacies in Texas, including five locations providing specialty pharmacy services and a dozen locations offering pharmacy compounding.
