CAMP HILL, Pa. — For American Pharmacists Month in October, Rite Aid Corp. is turning the spotlight on the whole pharmacy team.
The drug chain said Monday that it’s again giving customers a chance to win $2,500 in Rite Aid gift cards by nominating a favorite member of their Rite Aid pharmacy team.
But Rite Aid noted that this year’s contest marks the first time that the company will recognize not just pharmacists but also their full pharmacy support team, including pharmacy technicians, cashiers and the chain’s new "wellness ambassadors," who report to the pharmacists and serve a customer service role bridging the front of the store with the pharmacy.
"Our loyal customers choose Rite Aid as their trusted pharmacy because of the personal service they receive when they walk in our doors," Dan Miller, senior vice president of pharmacy operations, said in a statement. "As any of our pharmacists can tell you, it takes the efforts of the entire pharmacy team to care for our customers. By expanding this contest, we’re able to recognize all of the pharmacy team members who help us make it personal at Rite Aid all year long."
All "favorite" Rite Aid pharmacy team members will be recognized by the company with a "Favorite Pharmacy Team Member" lapel pin and a letter of commendation from Rite Aid chairman, president and chief executive officer John Standley.
Through Oct. 31, customers can vote for their favorite pharmacy team member via a mail-in nomination form at all Rite Aid pharmacies or online at riteaid.com/vote. Customers who vote will automatically be entered into a random drawing to win $2,500 in Rite Aid gift cards. One nominated pharmacy team member also will win $2,500 in Rite Aid gift cards through a random drawing.
"I recently received a note from a customer in Youngstown, Ohio, who thanked the entire pharmacy team for giving her good advice when her regular doctor wasn’t available over the Labor Day weekend," Miller added. "This customer wanted us to know that, in no uncertain terms, she credited her Rite Aid pharmacy team for sending her straight to the hospital to clear up a potentially serious infection. This is just one example of how our pharmacy teams are making a difference in the lives of customers, every day."
