CAMP HILL, Pa. — Tammy Royer has been promoted to group vice president of managed care at Rite Aid Corp.

The drug store chain said Tuesday that Royer, previously vice president of pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, will now oversee all aspects of managed care, including contracting; relationships with managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit managers and third-party payers; and the development of strategic partnerships.
A licensed pharmacist, Royer will report to Chris Hall, senior vice president of pharmacy services at Rite Aid.
"Tammy is a valued member of Rite Aid’s pharmacy team who has made significant contributions across several functional areas of our pharmacy division, helping us grow our business and enhance our customer experience," Hall said in a statement. "We look forward to further benefitting from her knowledge and expertise and are confident she’ll continue to deliver strong results in her new position as she and her team effectively execute our managed care strategy."
Royer joined Rite Aid in 1996 as a pharmacist. Since then, she has held a range of positions with increasing responsibilities in the pharmacy division in both the field and corporate office, including pharmacy operations, pharmacy technology and pharmacy loss prevention. In 2009, she was named to the newly created post of vice president of script growth initiatives, where she developed and executed plans to grow Rite Aid’s pharmacy business.
In her most recent role as vice president of pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, Royer was responsible for the development, implementation and management of new pharmacy business and clinical programs, including immunizations, medication therapy management and medication adherence.
