LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Payment Alliance International (PAI) has been selected by Rite Aid Corp. to provide ATM services for about 1,500 Rite Aid drug stores in the western and southern United States.

PAI said Monday that the Rite Aid program will offer EMV-ready ATM equipment, domestic and international transaction processing, and branding opportunities for financial institutions.

"It has been a pleasure working with the Rite Aid team so far on this project rollout," stated Greg Mercer, senior vice president at PAI. "This should be a big win not only for Rite Aid and their customers, but also for financial institutions looking to expand their presence in these markets."

One of the nation’s largest ATM networks, PAI provides ATM services for more than 60,000 retail locations across the country.

"We are thrilled to have such a large and innovative retailer like Rite Aid as a PAI client," commented John Leehy, president and chief executive officer of PAI. "Some of our largest financial institution clients are already abuzz about the potential ATM branding opportunities that will provide their collective customers with surcharge-free access to cash at conveniently located Rite Aid stores."
