ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) announced that rock legend Roger Daltrey will perform at the grand finale during the Directors Dinner & Entertainment being held on Tuesday, April 30th,  7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. closing out the 2024 NACDS Annual Meeting in Palm Beach, Fla.

Roger Daltry

If any one member of The Who can be said to be the group’s founding member it is singer Roger Daltrey, who was born in the West Lo ndon suburb of Shepherd’s Bush on March 1, 1944. Roger first assembled the group that would become The Who in 1959 while at Acton County School, recruiting John Entwistle and subsequently agreeing to John’s proposal that Pete Townshend should join. Initially working in a sheet metal factory, Roger’s energy and ambition were instrumental in shaping the band’s early years and have continued to sustain them through various challenges.

Roger Daltrey began a solo singing career in 1973 with his hit ‘Giving It All Away’ and the album “Daltrey”. He released several more albums and transitioned into acting, notably in Ken Russell’s 1975 adaptation of “Tommy”, earning a Golden Globe nomination. He continued acting in films and TV, maintaining his music career alongside.

After their 2010 Super Bowl performance and 2012 Olympics closing, Roger along with The Who have focused on charity, notably for cancer treatment and disaster relief. Roger experienced one of his busiest years in 2022 with a series of solo dates in the UK during the summer, followed by touring Europe and the UK with The Who in 2023.
