ROFDA grows membership with addition of Brookshire Bros.

Brookshire Bros. brings a strong retail and community-based operating perspective to ROFDA’s member network.

DENVER, Colo. — ROFDA today announced that Brookshire Bros. has joined the organization as a member, effective May 2026. The addition expands ROFDA’s membership and strengthens its collective platform serving wholesalers, retailers, and the independent grocery channel.

Brookshire Bros. brings a strong retail and community-based operating perspective to ROFDA’s member network. Its participation adds to ROFDA’s growing ability to bring together leading organizations that are committed to the success, competitiveness, and long-term relevance of the independent grocer.

The addition of Brookshire Bros. also reinforces ROFDA’s focus on strategic collaboration, supplier engagement, share group participation, and initiatives that create greater value when members work together rather than separately.

ROFDA’s value proposition is centered on helping member organizations become more competitive by working together in areas where collective scale, shared insight, and coordinated engagement can create greater impact than any single company could achieve on its own. That includes building a stronger and more efficient platform for strategic CPG engagement, expanding technology and data-related collaboration, and advancing operational practices that support the wholesalers, self-distributing retailers, and independent grocers ROFDA members serve.

As ROFDA continues to evolve, the organization intends to identify and engage other high-quality wholesalers and self-distributing retailers whose participation can further strengthen the profile, reach, and operating scale of the collective. The goal is not simply growth for growth’s sake, but purposeful expansion that enhances the value ROFDA can bring to its members, retail customers, supplier partners, and the broader independent grocery marketplace.

“We took a thoughtful look at ROFDA and the value it brings to its members, suppliers, and the independent retail community. What stood out to us was the practical nature of the collaboration, the access to executive and functional share groups, and the focus on doing together what can make each member more competitive. We believe Brookshire Bros. can both benefit from and contribute to that collective value," said John Alston, President and CEO, Brookshire Bros.

“On behalf of the ROFDA Board, we are excited to welcome Brookshire Bros. into the ROFDA community. Each member brings a distinct operating perspective, market presence, and set of capabilities that adds value to the collective, and Brookshire Bros. strengthens that mix in a meaningful way. At the same time, ROFDA provides Brookshire Bros. with a collaborative structure to engage with peer leaders, supplier partners, and strategic initiatives that can help create value for their business and for the broader independent retail channel," added Amy Niemetscheck, President and CEO, CERTCO and Board Chair, ROFDA.
