LEESBURG, Va. — Pharmacy alliance RxAlly has named John Miall as national practice leader for integrated care initiatives.
The company said Tuesday that in the role Miall will be responsible for working directly with payers, government entities and other partiess to improve clinical and financial outcomes in commercial, self-funded, Medicaid and Medicare programs via medication therapy management (MTM) and other pharmacist-based care models.

Miall joins RxAlly from Miall Consulting, which leveraged his 30 years of experience working with clients across the United States and Canada to provide counsel on prescription benefit programs. Before launching Miall Consulting, he served as director of risk management for the city of Asheville, N.C., where he held major operational and financial responsibilities for citywide, self-funded liability programs, overseeing about $30 million in budgeted programs.
In 1997, Miall was one of a group of people behind The Asheville Project, which led pharmacists to develop patient care services in their community pharmacies that resulted in improved health and lower health care costs. The project inspired a new health care model for individuals with chronic conditions.

Announced in late Feburary, RxAlly is a performance network of more than 20,000 pharmacies, including Walgreens, regional chains, thousands of independent pharmacies and others. The alliance aims to help patients improve their health through personalized pharmacist care while reining in medical costs.
