LEESBURG, Va. — Rebecca Chater has joined pharmacy alliance RxAlly as vice president of health outcomes.

RxAlly said Tuesday that in the role, Chater will provide leadership and clinical management of RxAlly solutions, as well as integrating business development with clinical staff and operations.
"RxAlly’s goal is to empower community pharmacies to provide personalized pharmacist care to improve health outcomes and lower health care costs, so it’s a perfect fit with what I have been focusing on professionally for a long time," Chater said in a statement. "I am particularly excited at the prospect of working alongside RxAlly’s highly capable leadership team and with the many forward-thinking and dedicated pharmacists at the local level to help advance pharmacy care on a national scale."
A longtime executive and manager at Kerr Drug, Chater most recently was executive vice president at Kerr Health, the North Carolina drug chain’s health services arm. The pharmacy industry veteran brings to RxAlly more than 20 years of experience leading clinical services programs and launching community pharmacy initiatives to enhance patient health outcomes and lower health care costs, including the landmark Asheville Project.

We are very fortunate to have her on board," stated Bruce Roberts, chief executive officer of RxAlly, which has over 22,000 member pharmacies, including independents, regional chains and Walgreens. "Her role will be critical in helping RxAlly develop and implement on a national scale industry-leading clinical service programs that support RxAlly’s member pharmacies in providing the highest quality pharmacy care available."
As executive vice president at Kerr Health, Chater spearheaded development and implementation of patient-centric pharmacy care, health screening and disease management services in local pharmacies across the state, including urban and rural locations.
Also at Kerr, she provided clinical leadership in the specialty, long-term care and care management divisions, including developing and implementing an integrated model of clinical programs that optimized patient outcomes, ensured clinical efficiencies and controlled costs, according to RxAlly. She also collaborated with other executive leaders to develop and implement an organizational strategic plan, identify gaps and design solutions for performance improvement, and provide guidance and oversight for two key medical home projects enacted by the North Carolina General Assembly.
In addition, Chater served as president of KDI Health Solutions, a Kerr subsidiary, and played an integral role in the Asheville Project, which serves as a model for delivering health solutions and patient-centric care via community pharmacy. She also is an elected member and past president of the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy and has served as visiting clinical assistant professor in the department of pharmacotherapy at the University Of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
