BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Stress will be among the health indicators that Sam’s Club pharmacies will gauge at its latest round free health screenings.
The Walmart warehouse club chain on Saturday, May 11, plans to offer a series of preventive health tests, as well as skin health screenings, at its 565 in-store pharmacies.
Valued at up to $150, the tests will measure body mass index (BMI), weight, height, blood pressure, vision and cortisol.
A primary stress hormone, cortisol has an effect on various body systems. This blood test measures cortisol levels produced by the adrenal or pituitary glands and shows how well those glands are working, according to Sam’s Club.
After getting a health screenings, participants will receive a certificate to pick up a free sample of Align probiotic supplements at the Sam’s Club pharmacy.
"As summer arrives, Americans are more focused on getting in shape and spending more time in the sun," Jill Turner-Mitchael, senior vice president of health and wellnesss at Sam’s Club, said in a statement. "Sam’s Club is hosting preventive weight maintenance, stress and skin health screenings to help people prevent potential skin damage from the sun and understand the effects that stress and cortisol levels may have on weight and skin maintenance."
