CAMP HILL, Pa. — Bryan Shirtliff has been named senior vice president of business development at Rite Aid Corp., a new position.
Shirtliff, who joined Rite Aid in 1998, had been senior vice president of category management.
In the new post, he will be charged with developing merchandising initiatives to support the chain’s store segmentation strategy, which involves grouping stores with similar characteristics and creating a unique business plan for each group. His responsibilities also include developing nonpharmacy opportunities.
Rite Aid adds that retail industry veteran Tony Montini will return to the company as senior vice president of category management, a post he held at the chain before joining the advertising agency Marc USA in 2004 and becoming its executive vice president and COO. Montini also formerly oversaw Kmart’s drug store business.
