HAZELTON, Pa. — Troy Healthcare, the maker of Stopain topical analgesic products, has entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League.
The company said Wednesday that the Stopain sponsorship agreement includes brand visibility at the Philadelphia Soul venue and ample opportunities for product sampling with fans.
The sponsorship runs through the 2013 AFL season, which for the Philadelphia Soul opens on March 23 against the Arizona Rattlers on the CBS Sports Network.
"So many athletes are plagued with muscle and back pain, so there’s certainly a direct connection with the Stopain brand. And we found the Philadelphia Soul fan base to be extremely interested in team sponsors and loyal to their products," stated Thomas Cicini, president and chief executive officer of Troy Healthcare. "This partnership is highly relevant to our brand and will help us increase awareness for Stopain with Arena Football fans and professional sports."
In November, Troy Healthcare announced that Ron Jaworski, a former starting quarterback for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles and a current ESPN football analyst, has agreed to serve as the national spokesman for Stopain. Jaworski, who retired from the NFL in 1990 after a knee injury, is the managing owner of the Philadelphia Soul.
"I truly believe in Stopain. It has helped me manage pain relief from years of playing professional football," Jaworski commented. "Partnering Stopain with the Philadelphia Soul is a natural extension of our relationship and will surely prove to be advantageous for Stopain’s brand visibility."
Stopain comes in four formulations: spray, extra-strength spray, extra-strength roll-on and gel. The topical pain reliever brand is sold nationwide at more than 35,000 independent pharmacies and chain drug stores, including Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Walmart and Meijer.
