EAST HANOVER, N.J. — The "sour then sweet" taste experience of Sour Patch Kids candy is being brought to Stride gum.

Mondelez International Inc. said Tuesday that the new Stride Sour Patch Kids gum is slated hit store shelves next month and will come in Redberry and Lime flavors.

Fans can have a first taste of the new offering by helping Stride catch the Sour Patch Kids through a "digital gum hunt." Consumers can visit Twitter or Facebook through Dec. 19 to have the chance to win free packs of the new gum before it’s available in stores.

Fans should be on the lookout for clues posted from the Stride Twitter page, including photos, riddles and more to help catch the Sour Patch Kids and turn them into gum, the company said.

"We are thrilled to bring the sour then sweet experience to Stride gum," stated Lauren Sella, senior brand manager of Stride for Mondelez International. "Both brands have tremendous fans, and we are counting on them to help us find the kids so we can turn them into delicious gum and bring this innovative product to market."

Stride Sour Patch Kids gum will be available nationwide starting in January and carry a suggested retail price of $1.29 for the single pack and $2.89 for a multipack.
