PORT WASHINGTON N.Y. — Sneeve Inc. is providing kids a way to sneeze and cough safely and avoid a mess.

The company has launched its eponymous product, The Sneeve, a soft, stretchy and absorbent sleeve that children wear over their arms, shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts or pajamas to catch the “yucky stuff” when they sneeze or cough into their arm. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends sneezing and coughing into the upper sleeve to help prevent the spread of germs.

Each disposable Sneeve will last most kids for a full day, absorbing phlegm and mucus while protecting clothing. The sleeve has an anti-microbial application made from citric acid and silver (used in hospitals) that kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria on contact, the company said.

The bright blue Sneeve is designed to fit comfortably on children ages 3 to 8. Sneeve noted that wearing the product also reminds kids to cough and sneeze into their arms.

The Sneeve is available now at TheSneeve.com and is slated to become available at select Rite Aid drug stores and at RiteAid.com this winter, according to Sneeve. The product is priced at $9.99 for a box of seven sleeves.
