SKILLMAN, N.J. — Tylenol is taking a bold step to address the inequities faced by women in sports. In partnership with the Women’s Sports Foundation® (WSF), Tylenol has launched the Athlete Recovery and Care Commitment Grant to provide financial and emotional support to elite women athletes recovering from injuries.
Women athletes are underfunded at a 3-1 ratio in comparison to male counterparts during times of injury and setback. Tylenol aims to break down barriers to care that can prevent injured athletes from reaching their full potential, and has recognized 10 elite women athletes from across the nation by awarding them the Athlete Recovery and Care Commitment Grant.
To support injured women athletes facing painful setbacks, Tylenol and WSF, are providing funding as each Grant recipient rehabs to get back into the game and continue their pursuit of greatness. Each athlete will receive $10,000 to supplement the financial burden caused by medical bills and injury rehabilitation. Additionally, the athletes will receive increased visibility through the brand’s social media platforms to inspire further support for them during their journey to recovery.
The Care Commitment by Tylenol is part of the long-standing commitment of the pain relief brand to demonstrate Care Without Limits, not only providing support for the physical pain but also the mental and financial hardships women athletes face in the hopes of positively impacting the outcome of their journeys.
“With this funding in sponsorship with the Women’s Sports Foundation, 10 athletes will be able to better focus on their physical and mental recovery to get back on the field and continue their dreams of athletic success without financial stress,” said Jen Gow, Head of US Pain at Kenvue. “Tylenol® has longstanding equity as the #1 doctor recommended brand of pain relief and recognizes that pursuing greatness hurts.”
“We at the Women’s Sports Foundation are honored to partner with Tylenol to champion the resilience and potential of women athletes,” said WSF CEO Danette Leighton. “The Athlete Recovery and Care Commitment Grant is not just about aiding recovery—it’s about empowering these remarkable individuals to reclaim their path to greatness and inspiring all of us with their determination and resilience.”
