WAITSFIELD, Vt. — Verilux, which bills itself as a "healthy lighting company," has rolled out its HappyLight Compact Energy Lamps at selected Rite Aid drug stores nationwide.

A designer and manufacturer of lifestyle products using full-spectrum lighting technology, Verilux said Monday that the HappyLight is available for $39.95 at Rite Aid stores and that the initial rollout of the product will include several single-check rebate promotions throughout the fall and winter.

The HappyLight provides up to 2,500 lux of Natural Spectrum Daylight to combat the effects of seasonal light changes, shift work and jet lag while helping the body to recalibrate and stabilize; improve concentration, energy and mood levels; and support an overall sense of well-being, according to Verilux.

"Rite Aid has a commitment to bring chemical- and drug-free solutions to customers who suffer from the symptoms of the winter blues — such as fatigue, lethargy, lack of focus, carb cravings, sleeplessness and more — and our HappyLight is an ideal solution," commented Jim Carr, vice president of sales for Verilux. "And with its space-saving footprint of only 3 inches by 4.5 inches, it’s ideal for providing natural daylight to small spaces in homes, offices or dorm rooms."

The UL-listed HappyLight sports a silver base and white lens and comes with a one-year limited warranty, the company said.
