DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreen Co. has made some personnel changes in its beauty care and personal care organization.
Mike Spear has been named divisional merchandise manager of Walgreens’ personal care division, and Lauren Vondrasek is moving to the beauty team led by Barbara Larson, divisional merchandise manager for beauty, according to a memo to suppliers from Shannon Petree, the drug chain’s divisional vice president and general merchandise manager for beauty and personal care.
Currently director of category planning at Walgreens, Spear has 21 years of retail experience, including a variety of positions within sales, store operations and purchasing (domestic and import).
He has served as a merchandise manager and vice president/divisional merchandise manager for Walmart, a sales manager for Sara Lee Meat Group, senior vice president of business development for Recycled Paper Greetings and president of Splash Products, Petree said in the note.
In her new role on the beauty team, Vondrasek will assume responsibilities for fragrances, sunglasses, cosmetic bags and trial/travel items. Since being promoted to category manager in 2005, she has managed several product segments in the beauty and personal care divisions, Petree stated.
Vondrasek began her career at Walgreens in 1994 in store management. In October 2003, she joined the purchasing department as a replenishment buyer in training and later rose to the position of category manager.
