NEW YORK — In a Valentine’s Day promotion, Walgreen Co. is inviting people to "share a kiss" in photos posted on the giant electronic billboard at its marquee Times Square store in New York City.
The "Share A Kiss" campaign, led by digital marketing agency Digitas with Gilmore Group and sponsored by Hershey’s, aims to connect people both in person and online.
From Feb. 10 to 14, couples can upload their "kissing photos" online at shareakiss.walgreens.com or get their picture taken in-person at One Times Square in Manhattan to have their kiss displayed in bright lights.
"This Valentine’s Day, share a kiss with your sweetie on a billboard in the Big Apple — and you don’t even have to be in NYC. You can even download a copy of your picture as it appeared in Times Square, for free," Walgreens says on the "Share A Kiss" web site.
The billboard picture can then be downloaded or printed at any Walgreens drug store after it appears in Times Square. Also, the pictures will be available to share on Facebook or to print for a commemorative gift. The retailer has more than 100 personalized photo gift items available through its online photo center at www.photo.walgreens.com as well as in Walgreens stores.
