BENTONVILLE, ARK. — Walmart U.S. Chief Operating Officer Kieran Shanahan is leaving the company and will be succeeded by Kyle Kinnard, who previously served as COO of Walmart International. The leadership change follows several other high-profile departures, including Sam’s Club COO Tom Ward and Cedric Clark, executive vice president of U.S. Store Operations.
Since assuming the role of companywide CEO earlier this year, John Furner has overseen a broad reshaping of Walmart’s leadership team as the retailer accelerates its technology and AI-driven transformation strategy. Recent executive appointments include Kinnard as COO of Walmart U.S., David Guggina as president and CEO of Walmart U.S., Chris Nicholas as president and CEO of Walmart International, and Latriece Watkins as president and CEO of Sam’s Club U.S.
The leadership changes reflect Walmart’s strategic focus on digital growth, e-commerce expansion, and the advancement of enterprise platforms such as Walmart Data Ventures.
