BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart Data Ventures has introduced Scintilla In-Store, a new mobile platform that connects real-time store data with supplier field execution within Walmart locations.
The app brings together inventory visibility, modular and item-level data, performance metrics and supplier-assigned tasks in a single interface. By leveraging the same information used by store associates, field representatives can identify low-stock items, address shelf discrepancies and help reduce out-of-stocks during store visits.
Scintilla In-Store was previously known as Volt and builds on the capabilities of Volt Systems, which Walmart acquired in 2022. The rebranded platform is part of Walmart’s broader Scintilla ecosystem, its first-party insights suite that translates granular data into actionable intelligence for suppliers and merchants.
According to Walmart, upcoming enhancements will include AI-driven task prioritization and deeper integration with in-store systems, enabling faster, more efficient execution. The initiative is aimed at strengthening on-shelf availability and supporting a more seamless omnichannel shopping experience for customers.
