Walmart expands Scintilla with AI-powered commerce intelligence

New Scintilla capabilities will combine Walmart’s first-party data with AI-powered insights for suppliers.

ROGERS, Ark. – Walmart Data Ventures is expanding its Scintilla platform with new artificial intelligence capabilities to help suppliers turn data into insights and action more quickly.

At Inspire 2026, its annual supplier event, which brought together more than 2,000 suppliers and Walmart merchants, the retailer outlined the next phase of Scintilla.

Scintilla is evolving into what Walmart calls a commerce intelligence platform, offering suppliers a more integrated view of their Walmart business. Beginning next year, brands operating across Walmart’s first-party and Marketplace models will gain a more comprehensive view of their Walmart.com business.

Walmart is also expanding its use of AI within Scintilla. Marty for Scintilla is expected to evolve to support conversational AI grounded in Walmart’s first-party data, enabling users to explore business questions and create custom dashboards.

The platform is also designed to connect insights more directly to actions, such as inventory replenishment, media campaigns, and in-store execution.
