LOS ANGELES — WeNatal has expanded its prenatal and fertility-focused nutrition portfolio with the launch of Iron+, a standalone iron and vitamin C supplement that provides targeted support for consumers with increased iron needs.
The new formula combines 18 mg of Ferrochel® iron bisglycinate, a chelated form of iron selected for digestive tolerability, with 100 mg of PureWay-C® liposomal vitamin C to support iron absorption. The company said the supplement was developed to address common concerns with traditional iron products, including constipation, nausea and digestive discomfort.
According to WeNatal, iron needs can vary significantly depending on factors such as pregnancy, postpartum recovery, heavy menstrual cycles, endurance training, blood donation, dietary patterns, and laboratory results. The company noted that iron deficiency is particularly common during pregnancy, as blood volume expands to support both mother and baby.
“So many women are told they need more iron, then struggle to stay consistent because the experience can be very uncomfortable,” said Ronit Menashe, co-founder and CEO of WeNatal. “We wanted to create an option that fits into real life and supports women and men through seasons when their nutritional needs are evolving.”
Lisa Dreher, WeNatal’s director of nutrition, emphasized the importance of maintaining adequate iron levels throughout pregnancy.
“Iron deficiency is far more common during pregnancy than most people realize,” said Dreher. “Having a well-formulated, well-tolerated option like Iron+ gives women a real path to staying consistent with iron support when it matters most.”
The launch also complements WeNatal’s Prenatal Protein+ product, which was intentionally formulated without iron. The company said separating iron from calcium-containing protein products may help optimize nutrient absorption while allowing consumers to tailor supplementation to their specific needs.
Iron+ is available through WeNatal’s website for a suggested retail price of $34.95 for a one-time purchase or $26.95 through a subscription program.
Founded by Menashe and Vida Delrahim, WeNatal offers fertility, prenatal, and postpartum nutrition products for women and men, reflecting the company’s focus on fertility as a shared journey between partners.
