GREENVILLE, S.C. — Bi-Lo has launched its seasonal flu vaccine program and next month plans to introduce a new prescription discount card.
The regional supermarket chain said late last week that its pharmacies are offering discounted flu shots to customers who present their My Bi-Lo BonusCard. Flu vaccinations will cost $30 without the card and $27 for Bi-Lo BonusCard members. The retailer noted that Bi-Lo pharmacists also will be available to answer customer questions during the flu clinics.
And on Oct. 1, Bi-Lo will launch its new prescription discount card in all pharmacy locations. The card, which costs $5 a year, provides deep discounts on prescriptions and is good for the entire family’s prescription needs, the food and drug chain said. After signing up, customers will receive a Bi-Lo gift card worth $5 toward all Top Care brand health and beauty products.
According to Bi-Lo, the pharmacy discount card program is designed to help those without prescription insurance and includes prescriptions offered on the chain’s current $4/$10 generic drug plan. Customers can save up to 75% on generic prescriptions and 25% on brand-name prescriptions, the company said.
"Bi-Lo is dedicated to providing great care and consultation to all of our customers," Curtis Hartin, senior director of pharmacy at Bi-Lo, said in a statement. "It is important now more than ever to stay protected with this year’s vaccine, and with these two new programs our knowledgeable pharmacists are ready to provide shoppers more ways to save without having to sacrifice cost or quality of their care."
Bi-Lo operates 207 supermarkets, including 115 pharmacies, in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
