WASHINGTON — The Consumer Healthcare Products Association welcomed the appointment of Michael R. Wysong as the next president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, citing opportunities to strengthen the organizations’ partnership on self-care initiatives.

“Mike is a champion of industry and a passionate leader; I know he will be outstanding in this new role,” said CHPA President and CEO Scott Melville.

Melville said CHPA looks forward to working with Wysong and the NACDS team to advance initiatives that support self-care and help Americans take greater charge of their health.

He also paid tribute to Steve Anderson, thanking the longtime NACDS leader for his service and partnership with CHPA.

“Steve has been a steadfast advocate for pharmacies, patients, and consumers, and his impact on the industry will be felt for years to come,” Melville said.

CHPA said it looks forward to continuing its strong partnership with NACDS under Wysong’s leadership.
