WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS/pharmacy and Veterans Advantage Inc. have unveiled a new in-store savings program for Veterans Advantage’s VetRewards Card members.

CVS said Wednesday that the program provides military and veteran families with discounts on thousands of store brand products at its 7,400 drug stores nationwide.

U.S. active-duty military personnel, armed forces veterans, National Guard and reserve personnel and their families using the VetRewards Card can save $2 off each $10 purchase of CVS brand merchandise in stores.

Members are verified at VeteransAdvantage.com for access to a special downloadable coupon good daily at CVS/pharmacy. The coupon complements the current 10% online-only discount for purchases made on CVS.com for Veterans Advantage members that was launched in 2012.

"This new benefit for Veterans Advantage members demonstrates our continued commitment to those who have given so much in service to our country," George Coleman, vice president of merchandising for store brands at CVS/pharmacy, said in a statement. "We are proud and honored to support the Veterans Advantage mission of respect, recognition and rewards for veterans and military families. With the launch of this every day in-store discount, VetRewards Card members now have two significant ways to save and shop with CVS/pharmacy."

All CVS brand products — ranging from pain relief, stomach, allergy and cough/cold/flu remedies to first aid and vitamins, as well as other health care, food and snack, general merchandise, and beauty/personal care items — are eligible for the Veterans Advantage discount, CVS said. The discount also applies to the drug chain’s new Total Home private label and exclusive brands such as Essence of Beauty Fine Fragrance (bath and body), Gold Emblem (food, beverage and grocery), Caliber (school and office supplies), Pet Central (pet care) and Nuance Salma Hayek (beauty care).

"This is an exciting new benefit for Veterans Advantage members with industry leader CVS/pharmacy and its range of top quality health, beauty and everyday household essentials," stated H. Scott Higgins, founder and chief executive officer of Veterans Advantage. "We are pleased our members can now save on all CVS/pharmacy brand merchandise anytime they visit their local CVS/pharmacy store."
