NEW YORK — Major pharmacy retailers this week announced expanded availability of H1N1 vaccinations, including at in-store health clinics.
Rite Aid Corp. said Wednesday it is now is offering the H1N1 flu shots at 1,257 Rite Aid stores in 30 states and the District of Columbia.
States with Rite Aid stores offering H1N1 inoculations, which cost $15, include Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington and West Virginia, according to the company.
Also on Wednesday, CVS Caremark Corp. reported that H1N1 immunizations will be offered for $15 starting December 31 in eight more states — including CVS/pharmacies in Alabama, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania and New York as well MinuteClinic locations in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Earlier in the week, the company had announced that the vaccinations became available at select stores in Massachusetts, Virginia and Orange County, Calif.
Meanwhile, Target Corp. said Tuesday that the H1N1 vaccine is available at all seven of its Target Clinic locations in Maryland. Immunizations cost $15. The discount store chain has clinics in Maryland and Minnesota.
And Walgreen Co. on Tuesday announced that it has begun administering H1N1 vaccines at 150 drug stores in Massachusetts. The vaccinations cost $18.
