WASHINGTON – The National Association of Chain Drug Stores is marking Nutrition Month by emphasizing the importance of healthy eating in promoting overall well-being. As part of its ongoing Nourish My Health public education campaign, NACDS is highlighting the role of member pharmacies in providing essential health and wellness services across more than 25,000 locations nationwide.
The campaign underscores the significance of accessible nutrition education and support, particularly within the trusted setting of pharmacies. NACDS encourages people to participate in the conversation using the official campaign hashtag #NourishMyHealth on Facebook, LinkedIn and X.
“We recognize the vital role that pharmacy teams play in supporting the health of communities,” said NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson. “With a focus on delivering trusted, convenient care, pharmacies are the ideal destination for comprehensive services that include nutrition information and education.”
Launched in 2023 in collaboration with leading national health organizations, Nourish My Health aligns with a national strategy to end hunger, improve nutrition, and reduce disease. The initiative promotes baseline health screenings to assess disease risks, provides healthy food guides, and offers resources for professionals. Additionally, it includes a nutrition security survey designed to inform solutions for improving access to nutritious foods.
In January, NACDS promoted Health Starts Here, highlighting NACDS member pharmacies and their commitment to supporting people wherever they are on their health journey.
