ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has announced four companies that will participate in Vision 2027, its futuristic, interactive display at the 2016 NACDS Total Store Expo.
NACDS said Friday that this year’s Vision participants include Li & Fung Business Intelligence, Kantar Retail, Nielsen and Shark Branding.
An interactive rendering of a virtual store environment was one of the highlights of the Vision exhibit at last year’s Total Store Expo.
The forward-looking Vision exhibits are designed to give a glimpse of what’s ahead in the evolution of retailing and trading partner collaboration. NACDS said the attraction employs a “unique blend of technology, interactivity and even celebrity.”
Led by Deborah Weinswig, executive director and head of global retail technology, Li & Fung will introduce 12 to 15 innovators that offer solutions for consumer goods, pharmacy, clinics and patient engagement. NACDS said their insights will appeal to those interested in enhancing the shopping experience, engaging patients via omnichannel strategies, and optimizing data analytics and cloud computing.
Li & Fung also is slated to showcase some elements of the Li & Fung Innovation Center in Shanghai, highlighting some leading-edge retail technology companies.
Meanwhile, Kantar Retail will give its take on what the “perfect shopper interaction of tomorrow” will look like, demonstrating the power of virtual reality to serve up retail environments and testing capabilities. Kantar’s presentation also will show ways that best-in-class companies will link analytics into compelling economic and shopper-centered solutions, according to NACDS.
The Nielsen Marketing Cloud will present opportunities to deliver relevant marketing to customers across devices and content. With the display, Nielsen will demonstrate the ability to integrate consumer and media data with world-class analytics and marketing activation solutions. The vision is to enable continuous marketing optimization across tactics so marketers can drive bottom-line results more efficiently, NACDS said.
And entrepreneur, investor, author, speaker and television personality Daymond John will highlight opportunities for companies to grow as innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises, now and into the future. He also will participate in the popular “Meet the Market” program on Aug. 6.
Accessible to all attendees, Vision 2027 will be open during the Exhibit Hall hours of the Total Store Expo, which runs Aug. 6 to 9 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
“Vision 2027 contributes powerfully to one of the most frequently asked questions: ‘what will be new this year at the NACDS Total Store Expo?’” NACDS president and chief executive officer Steve Anderson said in a statement. “The answer is always apparent in the new ideas, the new products and services, and the new content presented at the NACDS Total Store Expo. We are excited about what the Vision 2027 participants will bring to this equation, and about the contributions of all the exhibitors and retailers.”
