BOULDER, Colo. — Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy has began offering vaccinations for flu, whooping cough, pneumonia and shingles on a walk-in basis at all of its locations.
The regional drug chain said Tuesday that its pharmacists can provide the shots to any customer who requests one during pharmacy hours. Preservative-free flu vaccines are available on request as well.
Pharmaca also plans to hold Vaccination Clinics every Tuesday at 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the flu season.
"Immunizations can be vital to reducing the risk of serious illness from flu and whooping cough," Stuart Gratz, vice president of pharmacy operations at Pharmaca, said in a statement. "The Centers for Disease Control have identified the populations that can benefit most from certain immunizations, and we’re happy to be able to serve those needs."
Customers can bring their questions about immunizations and other health concerns to Pharmaca pharmacists and practitioners and receive personalized advice about their health, the chain added.
"By offering these vaccinations at any time, we’re serving the needs of customers who feel that immunization is the best option for them — and making it most convenient for them," Gratz stated. "Pharmaca has made the process even simpler by making Patient Intake Forms available for download on their website. Patients can save time by filling them out ahead of time and bringing them with them when they request an immunization."
Pharmaca, which brings together a full-service pharmacy with holistic therapies and certified nontraditional practitioners, has 24 locations in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington.
